Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner have spent $30 million for a lot on a high-security Miami island known as the “Billionaire’s Bunker", says a report.

The first daughter and her husband bought the land on exclusive Indian Creek Island, which has a 13-man police force and a 24/7 armed marine unit patrolling the waters, according to the New York Post.

The couple has reportedly purchased the lot on the 294-acre barrier island from singer Julio Iglesias and plan to build a luxurious ocean-front estate.

The land, which was listed for $31.8 million with annual property taxes of $472,764, was sold on 17 December and before that was last sold in 2014 for $21.6 million.

It measures 1.84 acres and comes with 200 feet of waterfront and is just an hour from Donald Trump’s Mar-a- Lago estate.

A total of 37 owners hold the 41 lots on the island, according to the village government and there were 31 homes on the island at the end of 2019, as well as the 6,662-yard golf course and clubhouse.

The couple have been rumoured to be keen to move away from New York City and had reportedly been looking in New Jersey and Florida.

They own a Park Avenue apartment in Manhattan and have been expanding their cottage at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

But they may not face a warm welcome back in New York after their work at the White House with Mr Trump and “Not Wanted ” posters featuring Ms Trump have appeared across Manhattan.

“The Kushners have been looking to purchase property in Florida for quite some time, and will also maintain their home in New York,”a source told the New York Post.

Current and former residents include Julio Iglesias, billionaire Carl Icahn, financier Charles Johnson, former Miami Dolphins coach Don Shula, and supermodel Adriana Lima.

Representatives for Ms Trump and the White House declined to comment.
