It is a missed opportunity to take the really substantial measures that would have helped to address the real and serious hardships being faced by so many families.
All we are seeing is a series of quick fixes and short-term thinking.
We had called for a €9 per month climate ticket which would have enabled free travel on public transport to people anywhere in Ireland. It could have helped people struggling here and helped reduce emissions too.
On care we have seen none of the ambitious Labour proposals to cap childcare costs here at €200 per month.
And we haven’t seen any ambition on housing either. On all measures, the Government has failed to deliver.
