'I’d have to' - Ivan Toney makes Liverpool transfer admission after 'main man' claim

Ivan Toney has declared he would join Liverpool as a bit-part player and establish himself as 'the main man'.

A scenario was put to the 24-year-old and Toney stated how he would settle for a place on the bench at the Reds, but force himself into the starting XI eventually.

The 24-year-old showcased his strengths when Liverpool travelled to London to take on Brentford at the end of September as he gave Virgil van Dijk a job to do.

On YouTube, Total Media interviewed the striker and asked whether he would rather join Liverpool as a bit-part player or be the main man at Leeds, Toney replied: "I support Liverpool.

"If they come knocking who knows? Who knows."

When then asked whether he would rather join Liverpool as a bit-part player or be the main man at Leeds, Toney said: “I’d have to go to Liverpool and make myself the main man.”

Toney may have been eager to impress Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp after whispers the German is looking to bolster his attacking ranks in the coming transfer windows.
