Ivan Rakitic addresses his future amid Manchester United transfer speculation

Ivan Rakitic insists his future still remains at Barcelona despite recent reports linking him with a move to Manchester United.

The Croatia international has been linked with making the switch to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks for a player to replace Ander Herrera.

Speculation continues to surround the future of Rakitic with Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong set to complete his move to the Nou Camp in the coming weeks.

However, Rakitic insists he does not see his position under threat by the imminent arrival of the young central midfielder and says he is still fully concentrating on his own future at Barcelona.

"I'm glad they signed him [De Jong] up," Rakitic told  Mundo Deportivo.

"First of all there is a young boy who is playing very well and I am glad that the club continues to strengthen. Every good player that can arrive, delighted.

"But also everyone has their place," he continued. "He arrives but I am convinced that he will not arrive for my position, my position is occupied.

"I wish you good luck and I respect you one hundred percent. Besides, he is playing in another position that is not mine, so I do not understand why they relate him to me.

"I'm glad you come. I hope you have good morning now that you are in Barcelona, that you enjoy and are welcome."
