ITV2 Love Island viewers notice rule change to show

Viewers of ITV2 reality dating show Love Island noticed an odd rule change during a recent challenge.

In tonight's show we saw the boys take part in "Doggy Style" where each girl had to guide their boy - who is blindfolded and dressed as a dog - around a Crufts-style agility course while they collected treats.

Previously on the programme, Islanders have been forced to pair up in their couples - despite how well they are getting on, and often makes for awkward, but great, TV.

But tonight fans were quick to point out that Maura and Curtis were on the same team, even though officially, Curtis is in a couple with Francesca and Maura with Chris.

This didn't go down well with regular watchers, one said: "How come Curtis and Maura are together and Francesca and Chris are together when they’re not in couples?"

Another said: "Are u not meant to do this with who you're coupled up with? Have i missed a recoupling where Maura got Curtis?"

A third said: "How come Maura and Curtis did the challenge together and Francesca and Chris when they aren’t in official couples?"

A fourth said: "Why did Maura and Curtis do the challenge together? Isn’t he coupled with the new girl?"

A fifth added: "How are Maura and Curtis competing together when they're not coupled up and they're both in a couple??? So the producers just change the rules for anyone smh."

Others also felt the challenge was humiliating, one said: "My word the producers have excelled! In humiliating these young people. I hope in years to come they will think it’s been worth it... "

Another said: "The producers must be running out of ideas cuz what kind of 5 year old challenge is this."

A third added: "Can you imagine the brainstorming meeting when these producers come up with these ungodly challenges."

*Love Island is on ITV2, evenings from 9pm
