ITV2 Love Island's Megan Barton Hanson tells Good Morning Britain viewers she is happy with weight gain

Love Island's Megan Barton Hanson has said she is happy about gaining weight since leaving the villa last year.

The 25-year-old appeared on Good Morning Britain to talk about body positivity and reveal her naked photo shoot.

Talking to presenters Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard, she said: "When I was in the villa I lost a lot of weight due to stress. I have put on weight because I am happy."

She also said when she was in Love Island last year she lacked body confidence and said she found it difficult to lover herself when she came back from Majorca.

She said: "Love Island approached me the year before, but I said no because I didn't feel confident enough.

"Because I had cosmetic surgery people were comparing what I looked like in the villa to what I was like at 13, 14."

While Megan said she didn't regret her surgeries, she did say she thought it would be a quick fix.

She said: "I thought getting bigger boobs and a smaller nose would make me feel different, but it is just the tip of the ice berg.

"I thought I would come out [of surgery] a different person, I would be a more confident person.

"But it is not like that, if you don't love yourself within."

Megan said part of the reason she did her naked, untouched, photo was to send the message to her followers that they should love themselves.

But her words didn't go down well with some viewers who felt her stance was confusing.

One said: "Fake hair pony tail, fake lips, fake tan, fake lashes but wants to be real."

Another said: "Sorry but I don't buy it. Being body positive is about loving yourself no matter what. She didn't really if she had all that surgery."

A third added: "This girl is obviously not body confident if she felt the need for surgery. This is spreading the message that you need surgery to look good when that's not the case."
