ITV2's Love Island enraged fans tonight as Scouse firefighter Michael appeared to get closer to new girl Joanna.
Michael, 27, seemed secure in his blossoming romance with Geordie Amber - but even their relationship appears threatened by the challenges of Casa Amor .
Joanna, 22, made it clear to Michael tonight there was an attraction - and he did not exactly appear to hate the prospect.
In what some saw as a betrayal, he shared his frustrations at some of Amber's behaviour in the villa.
On Twitter , fans shared their ire as their favourite couple looked set to self-destruct.
Joanna said: "I just wanted to pull you aside because you are my type and obviously I wanted to get to know where you’re at. You’re coupled up with Amber.
With unexpected honesty, Michael opens up about the frustrations in his relationship with Amber and said: "Things are going well. I wouldn’t really say we’ve had our ups and downs. We’ve had a little blip. It’s certain things that have gone on that I think is quite childish.
"Are they things that I would probably put up with outside? Probably not as much as I am in here. She’s quite straight with everything but at the same time she’s not straight with me sometimes and that can be quite frustrating.”
Michael seemed unsure whether to share a bed with Joanna, with Curtis urging him to respect Amber.
The public have been quick to share their opinions.
Izzy Greaves said on Twitter: "If Michael couples up with a new girl I’m gonna book a Jet2 holiday to Mallorca and personally ruin him."
Dave Allen said: "You idiot Michael stop trying to second guess what Amber’s doing. Keeping your options open isn’t a basis for a strong relationship. If you don’t have trust it’s pointless."
Anna Ferreira said: "Michael is clearly disrespectful for suggesting that getting into bed with another girl would be acceptable - it doesn’t matter if you weren’t gonna do anything."
Jess said: "Michael might actually break, I'm fuming with his behaviour."
However, some fans seemed happy for Michael to pursue new love interests.
Georgia R said: "Amber is too immature for Michael! Let his head be turned."
@boomitsmaia said: "What I predict is that Michael is just throwing balls out there and seeing where they land, won't actually ditch Amber.
"But the stir up text will put Amber off because she already doesn't trust him so she will pick someone else, and if its like series 3 then he’ll go home."
