ITV1's Love Your Garden sees Alan Titchmarsh reduced to tears over dad's diagnosis

Gardening legend Alan Titchmarsh was in tears on ITV last night after a family's outdoor space at their home was transformed. Last night, Alan was in Nottinghamshire where he met Daniel Bradbury, 32, and the rest of his family, including his two kids.

Love Your Garden on ITV1 sees Alan and his team travel the country each week looking for people who need some help improving their gardens.

But things quickly became emotional as Alan learned dad Daniel is one of the youngest people in the UK to be diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease

Alan then told the rest of his team while he was planning the space: "The other thing we must remember while we're doing this is that Daniel was a landscape gardener when he was diagnosed.

"He's one of ours isn't he.." he said, trailing off as he was overcome with emotion and began to tear up. We've got to look after him haven't we. We'll do him proud.

"As one man of soil to another, I'm determined to give Daniel and his family a garden to be proud of."

The team set about taking the large, empty space, full of weeds and half dead grass, and turning it into a wonderland with figure of eight paths, trees, bushes, wildflowers, a garden room and a dining area, complete with pergola cover, working kitchen and a table and chairs, reports Yorkshire Live.

They even installed a water feature and a learning playhouse for the family's two toddlers. Daniel was then invited to see the team's hard work and the unrecognisable transformation.

"Thank you very much," Daniel told Alan with tears in his eyes as he looked around the space while holding onto his wife and Alan for help standing up.
