ITV X Factor's Wagner quits UK for new career so he can 'die in peace'

X Factor legend Wagner has revealed he is leaving the UK to pursue a new career.

The Brazilian was a hit with fans when he appeared on season 7 of the ITV programme back in 2010. The singer was 54 at the time and was competing against acts such as Cher Lloyd and Rebecca Ferguson.

He participated as part of the over 28s category and thrilled audiences with his performances of songs such as She Bangs and Addicted to Love. Wagner exited the show at the quarter finals, but still earns a living from singing as he sells personalised music videos, merchandise and personal appearances.

However, the 66-year-old is now set to return to Brazil to open up a hair transplant business. He told the Mirror : "I'm living proof that hair transplants work. I had mine eight years ago and I haven’t lost anything. I lose more from the beard than my head."

Wagner went to the Vinci Hair Clinic to transfer healthy hair follicles from the back of the head to spots at the top and front of his head. He became very good friends with owner Salvar Björnsson, who has 40 clinics around the world and is letting Wagner open a new franchise in the north east of Brazil where he grew up.

He said: "So you’re asking me to go back to paradise, palm trees, 12 months of sea, to go and make money? I’m going to be making so much money I’ll be coming back to the UK. I’m only a flight away."

Wagner will stay in Brazil for at least three or four months while he finds a premises and trains staff up. Wagner is in a relationship with Lydia Longville and the couple are parents to two children.

The X Factor star said the clinic will help him provide for his family. He added: "Once the clinic is up and running I can employ a manager who speaks English and once I die, Lydia will communicate with the manager and I can die in peace now."
