A player on Who Wants to be a Millionaire? was urged to "take the money and run" when he made it to the lucrative £1million question.
The popular quiz show sees contestants try and answer 15 questions to accrue cash prizes, with the final question worth a top prize of £1million.
John Robinson, an English teacher from Birmingham, got off to a rocky start in tonight's episode, which was a repeat, after not knowing the answer to the £2,000 question.
He needed to use a lifeline for the question but managed to turn the game around and made it to all important final question to try and play for £1million.
The teacher earned £500,000 and had set his safety net at £64,000 which meant if he got the £1million question wrong, he stood to lose £436,000.
Presenter Jeremy Clarkson asked the final question, which was: "Which of these UK prime ministers never served as Foreign Secretary?"
The answer options were Winston Churchill, Alex Douglas-Home, Anthony Eden or Harold Macmillan.
John weighed up the answers, which made viewers nervous he could lose the £500,000 he had earned so far.
Viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts, urging the player to take the money and not gamble:
Luna said: "Take the money! Take it and run!!!!"
Tracy said: "take the money..."
Polly said: "Take the money if in any doubt!"
One viewer said: "This guy on Millionaire is brill. Hope he takes the lot."
Michael commented: "Considering the teacher didn’t know where Royal Jelly comes from he’s doing rather well".
Jack said: "£500,000. And what a worthy winner. Seems like a thoroughly nice fella".
John decided not to risk the money, instead taking the £500,000 home.
Jeremy Clarkson was impressed with his performance and said: "It's been an enormous pleasure having you."
The correct answer to the £1million question was Winston Churchill.
