ITV unveils royal fiction

Monkey had to admire ITV's bravery at yesterday's winter launch. Not only because Simon Shaps agreed to take questions about the Deloitte report, but also because the network included footage of a jolly new royal drama called The Palace. The clip combined the magic ingredients of fiction and the royal family. And we all know what happened the last time a broadcaster did that at a launch. As Shaps pointed out afterwards, just in case some hacks didn't realise: "The Palace is definitely not a documentary." Phew.
