ITV to launch 'middle-aged' Love Island' as Edinburgh kids urged to nominate single parents

A casting call has gone out to Edinburgh-based children to nominate their parents searching for some loving as ITV announce a brand new 'middle-aged' version of Love Island.

The new programme, called The Romance Retreat, will become the UK's only dating show where single parents can search for love, by spending time in a luxury retreat.

The catch is, the parents have all been nominated by their grown-up children.

Edinburgh has been included in this casting call for single mums and dads who are aiming to find their life partner.

The show has a similar set up to popular ITV2 show, Love Island, where contestants are whisked off to a luxury villa to make romantic connections. The only difference is, it's not young influencers and daughter's of ex-footballers, but solo parents who are making this exotic trip.

And while the concept appears similar to the popular ITV2 series, it remains unclear whether there will be a cash prize on offer for the eventual winners.

ITV said: "ITV1 are looking for vibrant single parents from across the UK who are in search of love, for a brand new dating show!

"This is the ONLY dating show where single parents can search for love, by spending time in a luxury retreat, where all the parents have been nominated by their grown up children."

Applications are open now, and the deadline is March 31, 2023.

The rules are that applicants must be 18 years of age or over on or before May 1, 2023.

You can nominate a single parent you know on the ITV website right now.
