ITV to broadcast GMB, This Morning and Lorraine on Christmas Day for first time

Good Morning Britain, This Morning and Lorraine are to air for the first time...on Christmas Day.

ITV announced yesterday their Daytime big-hitters were being unleashed in the competitive festive schedule.

A source said: “They are massive ratings winners for ITV and such an integral part of the brand, it was a no-brainer to let them loose on Xmas Day”.

This Morning host Phillip Schofield said: “What an absolute honour to be in people’s living rooms on Christmas day.

"We have never done this before, so to be part of another ‘first’ for the show is extra exciting for us.

"This special two hour show will have plenty for the whole family to enjoy throughout the morning... and I’m sure Holly and I will get to enjoy a festive tipple too!”

Co-host Holly Willougby added: “Doing this really is like a Christmas gift in itself!

"Just the thought of being on the telly during the excitement of Christmas morning with everyone, especially this year, is so special. We are going to have such fun filming this show and I hope viewers will enjoy it just as much as us."

Kicking off at 7am, Good Morning Britain stars Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid will be celebrating the ordinary heroes of 2020, such as Captain Tom, who raised millions of pounds for charity, and the thousands of brave NHS staff who put their lives on the line to help battle Covid.

Lorraine Kelly will also present from 9am onwards, interviewing some special guests and sharing her holiday beauty and fashion secrets.

Then at 10am Holly and Phillip will be presenting a special festive episode of This Morning.

Lorraine said: "I'm so looking forward to celebrating Christmas with our brilliant viewers. It’s been a tough year and we need some fun and a chance to celebrate."
