ITV Tipping Point viewers issue advice to players over mystery prize

Tipping Point viewers condemned the show's mystery prizes, saying they should be avoided entirely.

The ITV quiz show was back today with another round of contestants ready to take on the larger than life coin drop. As part of its 10th anniversary celebrations, the number of contenders has dropped from four to three despite a cold response from viewers.

Starting off strong on today's show was contestant Nick who managed to rack up several hundred pounds worth of cash in his first round. He also managed to bag himself the highly sought after mystery prize with only his second coin.

Today's prize was a one-year subscription to a plant delivery service. Although Nick seemed to be delighted with what he received, the plants didn't go down well with viewers.

Taking to Twitter to condemn the lack of impressive prizes, one comment said: "They need better mystery prizes than plants #tippingpoint." Another said "Wow great prize, cheers Ben. #TippingPoint" followed by a string of eye-rolling emojis.

Some viewers said the prizes have never been good and should be ignored in favour of the cash. The comment said: "Always best to avoid the mystery prize #tippingpoint". Viewers went on to say the money racked up by the end of the show is usually much more valuable than the cost of a mystery prize and the show should bring in more lucrative items.
