ITV Tipping Point's Ben Shephard 'gets told' after he's baffled by player's remark

Ben Shephard was baffled by a contestant's response on Tipping Point.

The presenter welcomed three new players on Wednesday's edition as the popular ITV game show continues with its new format. Lee, Chloe and Liz were testing their wits to see if they could win big money from the arcade style machine.

However, Ben was confused by Lee's answer as he attempted to build up some coins to progress to the next round. The host asked: "Morgan, Arabian and American Quarter are all breeds of which domesticated equine animal?"

The correct answer was horse, but Lee responded with "fish" - and Ben addressed the remark when he read out the question again at the end of the round. Lee clarified he thought he heard Ben say "aquatic" instead of "equine".

Ben shot back: "Equine and aquatic are quite dramatically different. I don't know how many domesticated fish you can ride either."

Liz interjected and left the quizzers in stitches when she suggested "seahorse". Ben joked: "You're absolutely right. There's me told. Saddle up your seahorse, lets go."

Viewers following the show on Twitter erupted in hysterics at the exchange.

Shay said: "Fish?"

Geoff posted: "Equine animal. Fish"

Steve responded: "Fish!!! I’m laughing!!!"

Lee built up £250 before he exited the show at the end of the first round. Liz progressed all the way to the final and pushed the jackpot counter over the Tipping Point so she left with the £10,000 jackpot.

Tipping Point airs weekdays at 4pm on ITV and ITV Hub
