ITV Tipping Point changes don't go down well with viewers

ITV Tipping Point fans were not overly keen on changes when a brand new series kick started on Monday to celebrate its 10th birthday. With the new season came a big change.

The show celebrates its 10 year anniversary this year after launching on ITV back in 2012. Since then, the Tipping Point has gone on to produce a celebrity spin-off, Lucky Stars, featuring the likes of I'm A Celeb winner Joe Swash and Loose Women 's Denise Welch, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Viewers were less than impressed with the huge shakeup on Monday's show. The programme usually sees host Ben Shephard accompany four hopefuls as they take on a larger than life version of the old school coin fall machine in the hopes of winning more than just a couple of pounds.

With multiple rounds, contestants must answer questions correctly in order to drop a coin and if it falls successfully, their cash prize rises. There are now just three players at the start of each show, instead of four - with Joe, Amahra and Clifton battling it out to win some cash. But many fans of the show were unhappy with the new format.

Taking to Twitter, Arthur Summersell said: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". Marriann said: "Why mess with something that works?", while lennymr2 said: "Advert breaks are being inserted at odd times. Doesn't feel right."

Roger said: "Less people, more chat. Don't like it." Martin Dalton said: "Why have they now only got three contestants?". Michelle W said: "Watched 2 mins and switched off, it's like a diff show" [sic].
