ITV This Morning viewers taken aback by 'change' as Phillip Schofield drama continues

This Morning viewers were taken aback by a change on today's show.

Tuesday's edition of ITV's flagship daytime programme was hosted by Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond. The show has been rocked with drama since Phillip Schofield quit ITV last week.

Mr Schofield stepped away after he admitted to having an affair with a runner while working on the show. Alison and Dermot addressed the situation on yesterday's episode.

Dermot said: "We happen to be in the news at the moment and of course we appreciate that, but just from both of us and the whole team here, the crew, the guys downstairs, we love making this show for all of you."

Alison added: "We really do and that's exactly what we're going to do. We're going to continue doing that so let's go on with our first news story."

The hosts returned to front today's jam packed episode, which started with an interview with Graeme Souness. The former Liverpool FC captain is swimming the Channel to raise funds for epidermolysis bullosa.

The show traditionally starts with a discussion on the latest headlines and fans suspected they had scrapped the segment.

Gaz said: "No news roundup today then guys?!"

Jo added: "So #ThisMorning have finally dropped the 'news stories of the day' segment then...."

Di posted: "Where is the news with their guests"

Joe commented: "No news review today

However, the news review section did feature in the show in an unfamiliar slot later in the programme. The hosts were joined by Nick Ferrari and Isla Traquair as they discussed stories such as if there should be a crackdown on vaping laws.
