ITV This Morning viewers slam 'irresponsible' interview with unvaccinated care worker

Fan of ITV's This Morning were left raging today after the popular show aired an interview with an unvaccinated care worker who had lost her job as a result of her vaccine status.

Louise Akester broke down in tears on the ITV programme to hosts Vernon Kay and Rochelle Humes as she explained she was asked to leave her job at a care home after refusing to have the Covid vaccine.

She revealed she had been forced to take work as a lorry driver and walk away from her industry of 14 years.

This Morning presenter Rochelle said: “You are a rock for so many people in that care home and then you get the news that if you don’t have the jab you’re about to lose your job.

“I feel for you so much when I think about that. But, what goes through your mind at that point?” Rochelle asked.

This Morning viewers branded the interview “pathetic” (ITV)

“It was like being punched in the stomach,” Louise replied.

However, several ITV viewers questioned why they didn’t have someone from the other side of the argument on the show as well - some even urged others to notify Ofcom with their complaints about the segment.

Anthea E said: "Totally irresponsible segment. No balance. Everyone that thinks so should be contacting @Ofcom#ThisMorning."

Lucy Jones asked: "why is #ThisMorning platforming anti vaxxers?"

@DavidMackayyy commented: “This interview is boiling my blood, how dare you @vernonkay and @RochelleHumes give a platform to the unvaccinated woman and give her a round of applause for being so selfish #ThisMorning.”

Ashley Riley added: "Really disappointing that #ThisMorning giving air time to an anti-vaxer. Her ignorance on the jab being in the ‘trial stage’ is silly nonsense. Choices and consequences."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
