ITV This Morning viewers make same remark about Andi Peters as he makes Holly and Phillip gasp with anecdote

Andi Peters had a busy morning as he made his way from Good Morning Britain to Lorraine with Christine Lampard before ending up as a guest on This Morning. The TV star joined Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on the ITV daytime show on Wednesday (October 26) and the trio were also joined by Andy Crane.

They were chatting about BBC’s The Broom Cupboard which all three presented at one time or another between 1985 and 1992, with none other than Gordon the Gopher who also made a special appearance on today's This Morning.

Phillip, Andy, and Andi were reminiscing on their time on the children's TV show amid the BBC's 100-year celebrations. The broadcaster marked its centenary last week, on October 18, with lots of looking back over the years while Strictly Come Dancing also paid tribute with the celebrities dancing to iconic BBC theme tunes or songs used by BBC programming.

And one anecdote from Andi left Holly, 41, and Phillip, 60, gasping in their seats. Asked by Phil if he ever got into trouble at any point Andi revealed that he was nearly sacked for swearing on live children’s TV. "I tend not to swear a lot in real life, if at all, and I once did go, 'Oh f…..'" he started to explain.

"You don’t even swear in real life!" Phil remarked before Andi continued: "The deputy head of children’s came up to me and said, 'Next time, if you’re going to do that, just swear, then I can sack you!'" leaving the hosts stunned.

Meanwhile, This Morning viewers couldn't help but comment on Andi's youthful appearance. @TraylorHolmes tweeted: "Andi Peters hasn’t aged in 30 years #ThisMorning." @Boppity_Boo34 echoed: "Andi Peters hasn’t aged #ThisMorning."

@bramwell_ashley posted: "I’m sorry I refuse to believe @andipeters is of a certain age that man doesn’t age at all. The muscles on him #ThisMorning." @ChantalMascoe wrote: "#ThisMorning Andi peters still looks the same from when he was presenting Children's BBC." @WorfDelm2016 added: "Andi Peter's looks the same. #ThisMorning."

Holly and Phillip were left open-mouthed by Andi's anecdote (ITV)

It comes just weeks after Andi was left mortified while hosting a competition segment for ITV on This Morning. The presenter was out and about on the streets of Birmingham as he prepared to give away another big cash prize to viewers watching at home. As Holly and Phillip sat in the studio, Andi got chatting to members of the public who were minding their own business and getting on with the day.

But there was a moment when an impromptu interview didn't quite go to plan and as Holly and Phillip checked in, the 52-year-old former children's TV star appeared gobsmacked. He said: "I'm mortified. I'm so upset." Then referring to a woman stood near him, who was hiding her face with her coat, Andi explained she had been talking to him off camera she told him he "looked older in real life."

Looking surprised, he said: "This lady's just come up to me," as the woman in question tried to get out of shot. "She's running away now," Andi went on. "She said I look older in real life! She said 'but maybe on the telly you wear a lot of makeup' but I was like 'you're kidding me, I'm wearing a lot right now.'" Not letting it go, Andi asked her: "How much older do you think I look in a real life?"
