ITV This Morning viewers have same reaction as Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield replaced by Alison and Dermot

This Morning viewers were soon commenting on social media when they were welcomed by Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary to the latest show. The hosting duo were back fronting the ITV daytime show on Monday (October 17), days after they helped the show celebrate its latest award win.

But fans of the popular show were quick to realise that Alison and Dermot don't usually host the show, being This Morning Friday's presenters and the Monday to Thursday episodes are usually presented by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

According to ITV, Phillip and Holly are taking their half-term break this week and Dermot and Alison will be sitting for them. But some were quick to point out that it's not long since the pair returned to the programme after their summer break, and others were confused as it isn't half-term where they live just yet.

@S829MLY tweeted: "Holly and Phil have only been back about a month and now they're off again.." @emilyyalejandra wrote: "#thismorning holly and Phill on holiday AGAIN?" @demelcy echoed: "Phil and Holly off again! #ThisMorning."

@Janeg6744Graham posted: "#thismorning so where are holly and phil its not half term thats next week are they just taking another week off or what!!!!" @Brekkietweets joked: "Have Holly and Phil jumped the queue on half term as well? Isn't it next week for most schools?

Holly and Phillip's absence comes just days after they led This Morning onto the stage to collect their latest National Television Award. The programme saw off competition from Loose Women, The Chase and The Repair Shop to scoop the gong in the Daytime category at the NTAs for a fifth year in a row.

A stunned Phillip put his head in his hands and appeared to hold back tears after This Morning was called as the winner while Holly looked equally as surprised and pleased as she immediately hugged her co-star and off-screen 'bestie'. When up on stage, an emotional Phil, 60, told the crowd and ITV viewers: "Don’t think we ever get complacent...

"And please don’t think we ever take this for granted. This means so much to us every year, especially this year. We have the most amazing team. I have the best friend, we have the best boss."

But while their fellow TV stars applauded it has been reported that the crowd around them reportedly booed - and it was picked up by viewers watching the glitzy event live on ITV. Scott Bryan, a TV critic and broadcaster, tweeted: "A source at the ceremony says that there were some boos in the room when This Morning won an #NTAs, but boos stopped during the speech."

Holly, 41, ignored the response, which appears to be in response to the backlash the duo faced after claims they 'skipped the queue' to see the Queen lying in state, and said on stage on the night: "Thank you so much, this award means everything because it is voted by you, and I think This Morning has a very special relationship with you. You make our show for us, you really do."
