ITV This Morning viewers 'feel sorry' for Vanessa Feltz as they're left 'disgusted' minutes into show

This Morning viewers said they 'felt sorry' for Vanessa Feltz as she appeared on the show to discuss the latest stories hitting the headlines. The broadcaster was back on the famous sofa alongside Camilla Tominey and Matthew Wright for the ITV daytime show's segment, 'This Morning's View'.

The trio joined the show's latest hosts, Josie Gibson and Dermot O'Leary, on Thursday (January 5), when the chat was dominated by Prince Harry's latest claims against his family. In a leaked extract of his highly anticipated autobiography, Spare, to The Guardian newspaper, the royal has reportedly claimed he was physically attacked by his brother over his marriage to Meghan Markle.

He writes that the alleged confrontation took place at his London home in 2019 and had left him with a visible injury to his back after the now-Prince of Wales grabbed his brother by the collar and ripped his necklace before knocking him to the floor. It comes ahead of two interviews - one with ITV and one with CBS News - that are set to be aired before the release of his memoir.

As the This Morning hosts and their guests talked about the latest shocking revelations, which comes weeks after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared in their own tell-all Netlfix series, royal correspondent Camilla argued the Royal Family has been taking a "dignified silence" approach to Harry's claims as bother Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace refuse to comment.

"The Royal Family's reasonableness in all this makes it seem even more unreasonable as the days go on," she said. "So this policy probably is the right one..." but before she could finish broadcaster Matthew cut in to argue against her points. "I just find the idea that you think the palace aren't briefing against them as just naive in the extreme!" he said.

"I think there's relentless briefing going on! Whether it's done directly or by the Daily Mail..." Matthew continued before Camilla interjected: "But Matt, Matt, Matt!" While he hit back: "Just let me have a moment," Camilla continued to cut in and asked: "Do you not think people can make their own minds up?"

As the pair went back and forth, often talking over on another, Vanessa was able to make brief points and share her thoughts on the situation and what her fellow guests were saying. However, it didn't go unnoticed by This Morning viewers that Vanessa appeared stuck - quite literally - in the middle of Camilla and Matthew.

@JoviGirl_1980 tweeted: "Actually feel quite sorry for Vanessa sat there in the middle with these two arguing over her #awkward #ThisMorning." @thetipsypuffin said: "Vanessa stuck in the middle of these two like: #ThisMorning," adding a gif of the former Radio 2 star sat between the talking pair.

@MadameMinge commented: "I feel oddly sorry for Vanessa today, she’s like the helpless Nan in between the fighting grandkids on that sofa… #ThisMorning." @TellyVsPodcasts added: "Why is Matthew Wright leering forward across poor Vanessa, shouting over her, interrupting any view she tries to voice and physically stretching across her personal space #ThisMorning."

But others were left fuming by some of her comments as she shrugged off Prince Harry and Prince William’s apparent altercation as being "like everybody’s Christmas". She said: " Am I the only person who thinks that all of this is so skewed and weird, because we’re talking now about fisty-cuffs, violent altercations, William grabs Harry and rips off his necklace, Harry breaks the dog bowl, serious, serious.

She continued: "But think back to everyone’s Christmas! As soon as you go back home to your family, you start to behave like you do when you were 12, six, and three, you know you do. Everybody reverts back to childhood. How many people – I’m not saying got into a really deep punch up and violently attack relatives – but who didn’t just [hit] your sister over the Christmas, or grab a present and give a bit of a kick. But how many people put it in a book?"

This Morning viewers didn't appear to agree. @Alliecats17 complained: "Listen to them, their bp must be through the roof, salivating over someone elses anguish, disgusting. #ThisMorning." @Mabel_Mouse_ wrote: "The thing is Vanessa if Harry had put William on his back there would have been uproar. You know, I know, we all know it. #ThisMorning." But @Racingfan211 added: "Vanessa is spot on, this is normal family rubbish! Anyone ever considered William was being overly protective of his little brother? You know like what happens in a 'normal' family? #ThisMorning."
