ITV This Morning under fire as fans slam Josie Gibson appearance

This Morning was under fire over Josie Gibson's appearance on today's show.

The Bristolian presenter was drafted in to front the show from Tuesday - Thursday after Holly Willoughby was struck down with illness.

Josie's hosting stint was a hit with fans - and she took to social media to thank viewers for sending in their compliments.

She said: "Thank you so much for all your messages today. Wow wow wow what an honour to say I've presented @thismorning. I was so nervous. @Schofe and @hollywills make it look so easy."

Friday's edition of ITV's flagship daytime programme was hosted by Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary - and Josie resumed her more familiar role presenting Dosh on Your Doorstep.

The Big Brother winner was posing as a pizza delivery driver as she was handing out cash prizes to residents on a street in West London.

However, fans following the show on Twitter were unhappy at Josie moving back to her role as competition host.

Traylor said: "It’s not right that Josie Gibson has had to go back to doing this stupid stuff. She’s proved she’s got more to offer."

Mary added: "Just saying...if I was producing #ThisMorning I'd take Josie off the doorstep and give her a permanent seat on the #ThisMorning sofa! She was so brilliant this week!"

Stephanie posted: "See they're back to mugging Josie off. She's so much better than that."

Anthony said: "Josie back to being wasted on this programme."

John commented : "Josie’s fall from grace was quick"

Jane tweeted: "Poor Josie, back to being the court jester."

This Mornings airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITVHub
