Vanessa Feltz was praised by This Morning viewers for her honest interview about her dramatic weight loss.
The 57-year-old told ITV presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield that she has had her gastric band removed after it became lodged in her liver.
Vanessa, a regular guest on the daytime TV show, admitted to having a gastric band - a band placed around the stomach which limits the amount of food you can physically eat - fitted in 2010.
But also said she often tried to 'cheat' by guzzling chocolate custard.
In January, Vanessa underwent surgery to have it removed after she started experiencing symptoms like reflux and found her band had slipped.
But during the operation, it was discovered that the slipped band had embedded itself in Vanessa’s liver.
While they managed to remove the band, Vanessa explained how it had to “be carefully dissected” which “took time”, and led to complications.

Vanessa spent some time in intensive care leaving her family very worried for her, but she was still able to undergo the bypass.
Since then, she has lost almost three stone in weight and she discussed the health benefits.
Admitting she was “a little less interested in food” she said: “I’ve lost just under three stone which is great. It’s good for the joints, good for the heart, good for diabetes and good for buying clothes.”
Fans of the show took to Twitter to praise her for her candid words, one said: "How honest Vanessa Feltz has been. Wrestling with my own dilemmas on weight loss. It’s great to hear how life can be happy and healthy after such surgery."

A third added: "Accept the ‘well dones’ Vanessa because you will still have had to eat healthily to lose what you have...the bypass restricts portion size/appetite only. You look great!
