Ruth Langsford says she is heartbroken after her sister Julia Johnson died following a 'long illness'.
The This Morning star confirmed the sad news on Twitter sharing a sweet photo of herself and Julia.
She said: "My lovely Sis Julia has sadly died after a very long illness.
"My heart is completely broken. She was the kindest and most gentle soul and I will miss her forever.
"As I am sure you will appreciate I need to take time to grieve with my family. Thank you for your understanding."
Fans responded to the post to offer their tributes and well wishes to Ruth.
One said: "[We] are so sorry to hear this news about you and your family Ruth.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this very difficult time for you all as you grieve for the loss of your beautiful sister Julia."
Another wrote: "I'm so sorry of course we understand just come back when you're good and ready sending so much love and lots of hugs your way lovely."
And some of Ruth's colleagues and celebrity friends flooded to the post offering their regards.

Ruth and her husband are due to present This Mornin g on Friday, June 21. It is expected Ruth will be absent.
