ITV This Morning's Rochelle Humes steps in as Idris Elba makes awkward mistake about her husband

Rochelle Humes subtly corrected Idris Elba when he made an awkward mistake about her husband when he appeared on This Morning. The actor appeared live on Friday's edition of the ITV daytime show (September 2) to chat to the presenter and her co-host Vernon Kay.

Idris headed to the studio to chat live on the famous sofa about his two new movies, turning 50, working with his wife and his new skincare brand. And there was some good news for fans of Luther.

Asked if a movie of the BBC One show was going ahead, Idris smiled and told the hosts: "Yes. It’s happened, we’ve shot it. We are editing it now and I’m really excited because it is a step up from the TV show and has a lot more scale…"

The Hollywood star also spoke briefly of his DJ career and admitted that's how he likes to 're-sets'. He said, “I’m off to do some closing sets in Ibiza. But I’ve been DJ-ing since I was 14 years old, so it’s a natural place for me to reset…

"When I’m doing a lot of acting I’m being someone else, and when I’m DJ-ing no one cares if you can act. I’ve done four seasons in Ibiza, I love it."

And talking about his upcoming gig on the Spanish party island, Idris ended up dropping a clanger when he turned to Rochelle and said: "I've DJ'd with Martin before, your husband." Rochelle quickly replied correcting his mistake as the 33-year-old's husband is actually JLS star Marvin Humes.

"Yeah Marv, you have, that's right," she said back. Then, realising his error, Idris replied: "Oh Martin, it's Marvin!" Finding the mistake amusing, Rochelle said: "Call him Martin, I prefer that! I Iove that, I'm telling him, 'you just got called Martin!'"

But looking for the camera, Idris pleaded: "No, no sorry Marv please!" Luckily, This Morning viewers didn't pick up on the error and Marvin is also yet to comment on his sudden renaming.

Rochelle and Marvin recently celebrated their 10 years of marriage by doing it all over again. The loved-up couple pulled out all the stops as they renewed their wedding vows last month in a stunning location in Lake Como, Italy.

They were watched on by their nearest and dearest, including their three children - daughters Alai-Mai, nine, and Valentina Raine, five, and one-year-old son Blake.

Announcing the news on Instagram, Marvin shared a picture of his wife’s hand resting on his, with their wedding rings in clear view. Alongside the image, the singer and presenter who found fame on ITV singing competition The X Factor, wrote: “Yes we did it all again!!! Ten down forever to go." Rochelle posted the same image with the caption: “Oops we did it again.. Ten down forever to go…” with a variety of emojis.
