ITV This Morning's Josie Gibson apologises as viewers claim she was 'stitched up' on 'last' show

Josie Gibson issued an apology to This Morning viewers after her willingness to take in one of the show's latest segments saw her almost suffer a bit of a mishap. The former Big Brother winner was back hosting the show on Thursday (January 5) but after being joined by Andi Peters earlier in the week, she had a new - yet very familiar - co-host.

She was joined by Dermot O'Leary who made an early return to the helm of the ITV daytime show before he is reunites with Alison Hammond on Friday (January 6), with Josie confirmed on Instagram that Thursday was her 'last day' on the show.

And the pair had no time to waste as after a brief chat about their respective Christmasses, which saw Dermot head off to Norway to be with his wife Dee's family while Josie hosted Alison and her son at her house, it was time to get stuck into the show.

Josie and Dermot were then joined live in the studio by Bryony Deery, a pilates trainer to the stars including This Morning's very own Rochelle Humes, with the workout set to bcome the most popular in 2023.

After a chat with Bryony, Dermot and Josie got stuck in by learning some moves. The show's hosts were made to get down on the floor and take their spot on their own pilates matt as Bryony talked them through some exercises.

However, partway through the exercises, Josie got cramp in her leg, and feared that viewers may have seen more than they'd expected a she rolled around in her black leather skirt and a skintight red bodysuit. "I didn't open my eyes for most of that because I was just getting full-on Gibson," Dermot admitted as the session ended.

Appearing slightly breathless and red-faced Josie replied: "Oh no, sorry about that," to which Dermot said : "No, don't apologise. I just wanted to be a gentleman." Josie then laughed before issuing more apologies as they headed into a break.

As they returned, back in the comfort of a chair, Dermot asked his co-host if she was ok. Josie explained that she had done an intense workout a few days ago and thinks that is what caused her leg to cramp during the pilates.

Dermot reassured Josie (ITV)

"So I'm so sorry about that, sorry you had to see that," she added as Dermot reassuringly looked at her and said: "You don't have to apologise for anything, alright? I think we both didn't make the best choice of outfit. These aren't the best trousers as well."

Reacting to the scenes, @geordiegalg tweeted: "Wardrobe department really stitched Josie up there! #ThisMorning." @SODASam_ said: "The best thing of 2023 so far is watching @Josiestweet do pilates in a leather skirt with cramp, what a trooper @ITV @thismorning."

@amytom23 posted: "I honestly love Josie on #thismorning … I don’t think anyone could do Pilates in a leather skirt." @Schwickie added: "#ThisMorning someone should have told wardrobe that Josie would be doing pilates this morning."
