ITV This Morning's Holly Willoughby returns to Instagram following backlash

This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby has returned to social media with her "outfit of the day" after taking a break from the platform. The television host has always shared her wardrobe details prior to going live in the ITV studio with her eight million Instagram followers, using the hashtag HWStyle.

However, when the presenter returned to her usual This Morning slot alongside Phillip Schofield following the death of the Queen last week, fans were quick to spot the 41-year-old was breaking her show tradition by remaining off social media. Holly's absence from the platform comes after she and Phil faced backlash after they were accused of "queue jumping" to see the Queen's coffin Lying-in-State at Westminster Abbey.

ITV issued a statement assuring This Morning viewers that Holly and Phil went along as "working journalists", and upon their return to screens on Tuesday, September 20, Holly and Phil also spoke about the issue.

They said: "Like hundreds of accredited broadcasters and journalists, we were given official permission to access the hall. It was strictly for the purpose of reporting on the event for millions of people in the UK, who haven't been able to visit Westminster in person.

"The rules were that we would be quickly escorted around the edges to a platform at the back, in contrast, those paying respects walked along a carpeted area beside the coffin and were given time to pause. None of the broadcasters and journalists there took anyone's place in the queue and no one filed past the Queen.

"We, of course, respected those rules, however, we realise it may have looked like something else and therefore totally understand the reaction. Please know, we would never jump a queue." You can read more on this here.

Returning to Instagram on Monday, September 26, Holly looked pretty in pink as she wore a matching skirt and knitwear and nude heels. She captioned the image: "Morning Monday… see you at 10am on @thismorning Today we’re joined by everyone’s favourite love story Harry Redknapp and his beautiful Sandra… #hwstyle skirt and knitwear by @cefinnstudio."

"I've missed your posts," wrote one fan, while another added: " I missed these posts! Looking lovely, hope you're doing ok." For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
