ITV This Morning's Holly Willoughby forced to apologise as Miriam Margolyes swears live on air

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were forced to apologise as Miriam Margolyes swore live on This Morning.

Miriam was her brilliant self as she was interviewed by Holly and Phil about her new programme.

The 78-year-old was promoting her new show 'Big fat Adventure', which explores Miriam's dislike towards her body.

Feeling that now is the time to do something about it, Miriam discovers societal pressures to be thin and the slew of information about healthy diets.

In the two-part documentary, she aims to learn more about the impact of obesity.

During her interview on This Morning, Miriam was asked by Phil about her emotions towards being overweight.

Miriam said: "I know what I look like, even when I saw myself then in that clip, because I've never seen that before and I thought 'what a hideous looking person'.

"But I know I'm a decent person so I'm trying to get over it but I know what I look like and I hate it .

"I love my face but I hate my body. That's the truth"

Phil said: "Doesn't that make you sad?"

Miriam replied: "I'm p***** off with myself", leading Holly and Phil to mouth 'sorry' to viewers at home.

But it wasn't long before she said the swear word again.

Explaining to Holly and Phil that all the vegetables she was eating was giving her wind, Miriam was reluctant to say the word 'fart'.

But Phil joked that she'd already swore on TV so there was no harm in saying 'fart'.

Miriam replied: "I know I've already said p***** off."
