ITV This Morning's Holly Willoughby explains why she's been missing from show

ITV This Morning viewers have had one thing on their mind - the perplexing absence of Holly Willoughby.

Fans took to social media to ask where the 40-year-old television presenter was after she had been missing from the programme.

The presenter recently had Spiderman actor Tom Holland in the studio and starred alongside Josie Gibson who is taking the place of Phillip Schofield, who is currently isolating due to testing positive for covid.

Opening the show, Josie welcomed Holly back.

In response, she said: "I have been away... It's lovely to see you" and Josie replied: "It's lovely to see you. "I feel like the blondes have taken over TV for the day. Who's left us in charge?"

Holly then explained that she had been whisked off in order to film her new BBC One show.

She explained: "I've been in Italy, in Northern Italy in the alps and I was doing a new TV show which is coming out... I don't know, later this year anyway, with Wim Hof.
