ITV This Morning's Holly Willoughby breaks down in tears live on air

Holly Willoughby was overcome with emotion on today's This Morning, breaking down in tears.

Nuns Sister Gabriel and Sister Geraldine-Marie appeared via video link to talk with Holly and her co-host Phillip Schofield about their music and their aims to help people during lockdown.

After their interview, Phil said: "Thank you so much, thank you."

The nuns added one final heart-warming message, which struck a chord with Holly.

They said: "We're really thrilled that something of the essence of our lives is helping people."

They added: "When you listen to our CD and you're at home and you're fed up or you're anxious or feeling depressed, just know that somewhere... there's a community of women and we're here, and we're with you."

Getting teary eyed, Holly said: "You know some people, they just talk and they really get you, don't they? Oh, that took me by surprise, you're going to have to read this next bit."

Holly added: "Sorry, it's when somebody says that it's all going to be okay, it's nice to hear isn't it?"

She was unable to continue and asked Phil to finish reading the segment.

After returning from an advert break, Phil asked her if she was okay and Holly said she had "pulled herself together".

*This Morning airs weekdays on ITV from 10am
