ITV This Morning's Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield shock teacher with emotional surprise

Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield reduced a guest to tears on This Morning thanks to a kind gesture.

The ITV presenters, on behalf of the programme, donated £3,500 to a school who are raising money for performing arts projects at the school.

The students at Catcote Academy in Hartlepool have learning difficulties which makes it more difficult for them to communicate and express themselves.

As a result, Performing Arts at Catcote has become vital and in a bid to get funding for the all-important lessons, they began sharing viral LipDub videos in the hope of gaining attention for their school.

Rick Kitson, head of performing arts at the school, told the show that they had so far raised around £1,500 of their £5,000 target.

But that all quickly changed leaving Mr Kitson shocked.

"We've got a bit surprise for everyone," Phil started to say. "As a gift before we head off for the summer, we would like to make up the difference from This Morning the show and top up your funds to the £5,000 you need.

"If you have a look at your page, we've already done it. You've got your target."

Holly then added: "So you can keep putting on the fabulous performances you have already put on."

The money was already added to the JustGiving page (ITV)

And it didn't stop there as she revealed: "Actually, just a little bit extra, Phil and I watching that, we were so moved by the incredible work you that we'd also between us put on another £5,000 for the following year so that’s two years worth of funding because you’re just amazing."

"Keep up the amazing work," the 38-year-old added.
