ITV This Morning's Holly and Phil forced to cancel Spin to Win live on air

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were forced to cancel the popular Spin to Win segment live on air.

This Morning's hit Spin to Win game sees a giant wheel descend from above the famous ITV set, complete with a range of potential cash prizes.

Presenting team Holly and Phil then call a viewer who must answer by saying the pass phrase in order to proceed and play the game and bag a prize.

If viewers answer the call and say anything other than pass phrase, they are hung up on and another viewer is called instead.

But when the This Morning presenters attempted to call a viewer at home today, they were unsuccessful in reaching anyone despite their repeated efforts.

The presenters made multiple calls, with a few people answering and saying "hello" instead of the pass phrase, while other calls simply weren't answered or didn't connect.

Holly confirmed the final call attempt, before the pair said Spin the Wheel would not be going ahead today.

Speaking to the camera, Phil said: "You've let us down."

Phil then said "the boss" had confirmed there will be two games of Spin to Win tomorrow, instead.

Phil added: "We're all standing here thinking, did we just transmit that?"

*This Morning airs weekdays on ITV from 10am
