ITV This Morning's Dr Ranj Singh issues warning after revealing he was mugged on way home from Brit Awards

This Morning's Dr Ranj has issued a statement revealing he was mugged after the Brit Awards.

The TV health expert took to Instagram to share that he felt 'stupid' and 'embarrassed' after the incident on Tuesday night.

Ranj Singh said he was approached whilst walking to get a taxi and his watch was stolen from his wrist, but luckily he wasn't hurt.

The 42-year-old doctor wanted to issue a 'word of warning' to his followers to 'be careful' when coming home at night.

His Instagram post shared on Wednesday night read: "A little word of warning. I had the best night last night.

"Sadly on the way home from Soho when I was walking to get a taxi, I was approached by a man who robbed me.

"It all happened so quickly and luckily I wasn't hurt at all, the g** stole my watch though. But it could have been so much worse.

"I foolishly chased after him, but he got away. I now know that's not a good idea as sometimes these people will lead you into a trap."

The TV doctor then admitted he felt 'stupid and embarrassed'.

"I wasn't going to say anything because I felt stupid and a bit embarrassed, but after speaking to some friends I thought it might just serve as a reminder.

"Please be careful when coming home at night - even in spaces you think are safe. Look out for each other peeps."

On Tuesday night Dr Ranj shared a snap of himself ahead of the Brit Awards, posing in an Alexandar McQueen suit with his suspected stolen watch on show.

The caption read: "OMG! I’m SO EXCITED because tonight I get to go to THE BRIT AWARDS.

"I’ve never been before and have always watched from home and had massive FOMO."
