ITV This Morning Rochelle Hulmes argues with guest about weight-loss app for kids

This Morning host Rochelle Hulmes got into a heated debate with a guest today over a new weight-loss app aimed at children.

Weight Watchers (now branded as WW) has launched an app in America called Kurbo, which encourages children to watch their weight.

Today Davina McCall and Rochelle were joined by guest Nikki Grahame and Steve Miller to debate whether the app was a good idea.

Nikki, who has suffered with an eating disorder, said: "This is such dangerous territory, I got admitted at eight to my first eating disorder clinic and if I had had this app it would have been so dangerous."

Steve, who was in favour of the app, hit back and said: "This is not a diet app, this tool could help so many families and parents, it includes mindfulness.

Nikki and Steve debated about the app (ITV)

"It's aimed at the family. We've gone barmy about this app."

Rochelle was against the app and said it was a parent's job to educate their children and said she was worried about her own children.

She said: "Children can have instagram on their phones and if they go on there and then go on this app and think they can achieve that unrealistic goal, it's dangerous."

Steve hit back and said: "Eating disorders are often triggered by something deeper than food. Who says it is an unrealistic goal to be healthy?"

But Rochelle was not happy and argued that Instagram images are unrealistic to use as weight goals.

WW currently have no plans to launch the app in the UK - with Nikki saying she was very happy about the fact.
