ITV This Morning interview with Ant Middleton halted after major problem

Holly and Phil's interview with Ant Middleton had to be halted today, after technical problems plagued the chat.

Ant appeared on This Morning to talk about his new 'mind over muscle' tour, but viewers struggled to hear what he was saying as the mic went in and out.

Holly and Phil went on with the chat - but as the sound problems continued the interview had to be halted, as the Mic was changed.

The hosts apologised for the disruption, as a runner ran into the studio to change the mic.

When the mic was fixed Ant continued to talk to Holly and Phil about his new venture.

More 'defects' revealed in new Royal Hospital - prompting fears of further delays

He also chatted about comments he made earlier this year, about telling his son not to cry.

Ant said his comments were misconstrued and he just meant that he wanted to teach his son to control his emotions.

And fans were quick to comment about the interview on social media.

One said: "Teach children not to bully other children for crying, don’t teach children to bottle up their emotions. we spend so long telling our children it’s okay not to be okay, so why would we tell them to only cry at home."

Another said: "Ant Middleton is out of touch. Go back to some regiments, talk to the lads affected by their 19yo mates suicides & tell them not to cry. See what reaction he gets then."

And a third said: " @antmiddleton on #ThisMorning is right in saying it's important to be resilient, BUT not about hiding and pushing away emotions! Learn to feel your emotions without judgement and attachment. Use meditation and mindfulness. THAT is scientifically proven to build resilience."

*This Morning continues at 10:30am tomorrow on ITV
