ITV This Morning fans say 'read the room' over 'unnecessary' segment

Some fans of This Morning complained during Thursday's episode over a "disgusting" and "unnecessary" segment.

Real estate agent to the stars, Leonard Steinberg, was on the ITV show talking to hosts Holly and Phil about how much A listers have sold their luxurious homes for. Live from New York, he gave viewers an insight into the homes of the rich and famous.

The properties shown included Kevin Costner's Dunbar ranch in Colorado. Rather than selling his home, he rents it out for a whopping £29,242 per night.

Britney Spears' Californian home was also featured, potentially up for sale at the £9.9m mark. Meanwhile, Helen Mirren's mega Hollywood estate was on the market for £13.79m and Sandra Bullock's avocado farm had just sold for £4.54m.

But some fans watching at home were unimpressed with the properties. Instead they branded the segment to be "unnecessary" and urged the TV programme to "read the room" amid the cost of living crisis.

On Twitter, one user said: "Nice segment when our bills are due & being bounced left right centre : right at the start of the month. #ThisMorning." Another added: "Another unnecessary segment #ThisMorning."

Luke said: "Slightly disgusting to see #ThisMorning showing million/billion pound houses when so many can’t afford to eat and have gas and electricity #CostOfLivingCrises."

Jackie said: "At the beginning of the show you were showing bailiffs invading peoples homes because they can’t afford to pay their bills. Now showing over privileged celebs homes…@thismorning read the room #ThisMorning."
