ITV's new original drama The Suspect introduces handsome psychologist Dr Joe O'Loughlin, who appears to have the perfect life.
A devoted husband, and clinical psychologist, Joe has just secured a publishing deal and even been hailed a local hero after rescuing a young patient who was ready to jump from the tenth floor of the hospital where he works.
When the body of a young woman is found in a shallow grave, Joe’s opinion is much sought after and when he meets DS Devi (Anjli Mohindra) he’s only too willing to offer help with profiling and his expertise.

But as the investigation into the woman’s death gathers pace, we start to ask, do we know the real Joe, or does he have a secret life?
Has his work as a clinical psychologist allowed him to develop a criminal mindset? Or worse?
Produced by the team behind Line of Duty and Vigil (World Productions), The Suspect sees a stellar cast bring Michael Robotham's bestselling novel of the same name to our screens.
Dr Joe O'Loughlin is played by Poldark star Aidan Turner, who has said he was immediately "gripped" while reading the scripts.
How many episodes of The Suspect are there?
There are five episodes. The first airs on Monday, August 29 at 9pm on ITV.
Each instalment will be an hour long, and once the first episode has aired it will also be available on the ITV Hub streaming service. Episodes two-five will air weekly, each Monday at 9pm, until September 26.
