ITV The Chase viewers shocked by Paul Sinha's insult to contestant

The Chase viewers were shocked by Paul Sinha's insult to a contestant on today's show.

Naomi from Kent was on the show with the hope of winning a potential prize pot worth thousands.

Describing her job as a 'dream maker', Naomi explained her role sees her create moments of joy for children in a fostering agency.

Host Bradley Walsh asked the 26-year-old what she would do with the prize fund should she succeed on the show.

Naomi revealed that she is a massive Harry Potter fan and a devoted Ravenclaw, therefore she would love to visit Harry Potter World in Orlando.

During the cash-builder, Naomi managed to secure a decent £4,000 for her team.

It was then time for her to face The Chaser Paul Sinha in the head-to-head round.

But before she did, Paul had some savage words for Naomi.

Setting her up, The Sinnerman said: "Hello Naomi, what a pleasure to meet a fellow Harry Potter obsessive."

Naomi replied: "I know."

Paul continued: "There's a deep rivalry because you're a Ravenclaw... and I'm a grown adult."

Naomi was stunned by his opening line - and so were viewers.

One viewer wrote on Twitter: "Nice put down from the Sinnerman."

Another said: "'And I'm a grown adullt' - Great work by The Sinnerman there."

Cece tweeted: "You're a Ravenclaw and I am a grown adult. Harsh @paulsinha very harsh!!"

Even The Chase's official Twitter account said: "Savage opening line from @PaulSinha. Best not show this to any Harry Potter fans."

However, Naomi was caught out by The Chaser in the head-to-head, going home empty-handed.
