ITV The Chase viewers shocked by Paul Sinha's comments to losing contestant

The Chase viewers were shocked by Paul Sinha's comments to a losing contestant.

Geoff, 71, was last up to face The Sinnerman.

He managed to score a respectable £3,000 in the cash-builder and opted for this in the head-to-head.

Putting in a decent effort, Geoff was one away from home when he was caught by the Chaser.

Host Bradley Walsh asked the pair: "The city of Agra was a capital of which empire?"

Geoff had answered Minoan, but the correct option was "Mughal", which The Sinnerman had chosen.

Following Geoff's loss, Paul commented: "I'm sorry to say Geoff that was actually quite an easy question.

"I mean obviously I'm from India, but Agra is famous for the Taj Mahal and that was your big clue to the question.

"Mughal is a historic empire that began in the 1600s in India."

Some viewers found Paul's final message hilarious, whereas others were shocked.

Simon said: "Of course it’s an easy question......if you know the b***** answer....if you don’t, it isn’t easy.

"Geoff obviously did not know...so he guessed."

John wrote: "Chaser on #TheChase putting the boot in after contestant got a question wrong. "That was actually an easy question".

Rachel commented: "Questions are only easy if you know them."

And another wrote: "Nice dig", followed by cry-laughing emojis.

Paul was on top form today as he surpassed Lisa and Richard in the final round, denying them £11,000.
