ITV The Chase viewers mock contestant’s answer to ‘easy’ question

Everyone’s an armchair critic while watching The Chase - and this time it was a poor contestant called Rachel who bore the brunt of viewers’ frustration.

During the cash builder round, she incorrectly answered a question posed by host Bradley Walsh - and it got fans all in a tizz.

A major clue to the answer was in the question itself.

Rachel appeared on the ITV game show along with three other players, Liam, Kojo and Sue, in a bid to get through to the final chance and be in with a chance of a cash prize.

Before they went up against Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan, they all took part in the cash builder round, with Sue banking an impressive £7,000.

Kojo managed £3,000, while Liam boosted their pot with an extra £5,000.

Poor Rachel stumbled on her first question, which, with the beauty of hindsight, was quite easy compared to some of the others.

Bradley said: "The Devon and Cornwall Longwool is a breed of what farm animal?"

Rachel quickly replied saying “pig” - which was wrong.

The answer was “sheep” - hinted at by the word Longwool.

The error prompted some rather sarcastic responses from viewers.

One posted: “A woolly pig?”

A second said: “Yeah - pig. That notoriously woolly animal....”

A third pointed out: "‘Longwool...’ answer’s sheep. Clue’s in the question...”

Another added: “Long wool, what animal.

“Pig.

“Off to a flyer there love.”

The Chase airs weekdays from 5pm on ITV.
