ITV The Chase viewers furious with 'easy' question and brand show 'a fix'

Fans of award-winning ITV gameshow The Chase were left fuming this evening branding the show "a fix".

Viewers watched in hope as 38-year-old personal trainer James and 19-year-old Liverpool student Owen went head-to-head against Anne Hegerty.

They scored a respectable 15 points in the hope of bagging their £11,000 between them.

And things were going their way, with a series of wrong answers and passes from The Governess.

Just when people thought it could be possible that Owen would be able to help send his parents on a trip to Scandinavia with the winning, Anne's luck turned.

But people took issue with the level of difficulty of the questions as Anne tore through the rest of the quick fire round and caught the contestants.

One question, in particular, angered fans on Twitter, one said: "#thechase is such a fix! one of the cleverest woman in the world @annehegerty gets the question “what is half of 30” really?"

Another said: "Half of 30 ffs, what a question."

A third said: "Did the chaser actually just get asked 'What's half of thirty?'"

A fourth said: "'What’s half of thirty?' Blimey, @TheChase has eased up over the years!"

A fifth added: "'What is half of 30?' Really? FIX!!"

*The Chase is on ITV1, weekdays from 5pm (This was a repeat from series 9)
