ITV The Chase star says they need to rename the show after family interference

Chaser Paul Sinha has said they need to rename the award-winning quiz show after the families of the contestants have more sway over their actions.

In today's episode of The Chase all four members of Bradley Walsh's team escaped The Sinnerman, 48, and made it back for the final chase.

But they all went for the middle offer on clear instructions from their family members, prompting the chaser to say they need to rename the ITV programme.

He said: "It should be called 'Most Influential Families," after the last team member, Sydney, 20, took the £4,000 she banked in the cash builder after making a deal with her younger sister.

Bradley agreed, laughing at how much the people at home were calling the shots.

Natasha, 35, from Hertfordshire said she had promised her chef husband she would be sensible for once in her life and went for the middle offer of £9,000.

Chocolatier David, 56 from Wakefield said he had promised his wife he would take away what he earned, while Warrington accountant Martyn, 49, said his son had told him to take the middle offer.

Martyn gave a stunning performance in the final chase as the team racked up 22 correct answers in two minutes and prompted Paul to tell him to join a quiz team.

With six successful push backs, Paul Sinha failed to catch them, looking deflated in the last 20 seconds, and they walked away with £29,000 between them.

Fans of the show were delighted for the four contestants, saying they were a great team.

One tweeted: "An example of teamwork par excellence on TheChase £29,000 (7250 each) Superb Quizzing."

Another said: "Best team for ages Martyn played a blinder."

A third added: "A brilliant team and a magnificent win for once - shame the jackpot was only £29,000 but very well deserved. Martyn was the man of the match. Well done!"
