ITV The Chase Scouse contestant given funny nickname by Jenny Ryan and Bradley Walsh

One contestant on The Chase earned herself a nickname as well as a place in the final in tonight's episode.

Host Bradley Walsh welcomed four new contestants to go head to head with the chaser, Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan, in tonight's show. Rod, Laura, Antonio and Kiera all hoped to go home with a cash prize.

Scouse contestant Laura impressed the chaser with her 'luck' and landed herself a new name. Bradley and Jenny were in awe of the player's 'fluky' answers as she secured a place in the final round.

Laura, who now lives in New Brighton but is originally from Liverpool, appeared on the show with hopes of going home with enough cash to go to a Canadian Grand Prix. She said that she became a Formula One fan after not being able to find the TV remote to switch over one day.

The 35-year-old bossed seven questions in the cash builder round and opted for a middle offer of £7,000 as she went head to head with The Vixen. Jenny said: "Fair play for backing yourself."

When answering the final question, which was about Star Trek, Laura admitted she had never seen the TV programme. Brad said: "Have you not? Ok, I hope it's a lucky guess. Can I be honest? I think you've fluked a few here."

The chosen answer was shown to be correct as Brad said: "Henceforth you will now be known as Jammy Laura." Chaser Jenny added: "I'm a fan of an alliteration - Lucky Laura!"

Brad congratulated her for getting through to the final, as he said: "Doesn't matter how you get there, doesn't matter if it goes in the back of the net. Off your thigh, off your head, off your stud - a goal's a goal alright."

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV and the ITV Hub
