ITV The Chase's The Beast stunned as 'weak' contestant wins thousands

The Beast was left stunned tonight after a "weak" contestant went on to win thousands.

Diagnostics Manager Rob, from Ipswich told Bradley he wanted to go on holiday with his wife to watch England play rugby in Australia or New Zealand.

But despite his lofty ambitions the 38-year-old only managed to score £2,000 in his cash builder.

And The Beast, Mark Labbett who was tonight's Chaser laid into his efforts calling Rob "weak" and saying he should take the £200 low offer.

But Rob decided to go for the high offer of £22,000 to prove himself.

Bradley slapped him on the back and said "yes this is what we want. I knew he was going to do that, he wants to prove himself."

And The Beast also clapped him and said: "I can't fault you, when you get a low cash builder you might as well go in either direction."

During the Chase, Rob managed to get a run of correct answers meaning he got back to his time one ahead of The Chaser.

Mark was shocked, but agreed Rob had done well and viewers at home were also thrilled for him.

Michelle Jones said: "Rob really redeemed himself there."

Ria said: "Well done Rob, completely redeemed yourself."

Victoria said: "The Beast 100% just got hustled."

And Darren said: "Wow what a great performance for ‘a player as poor as you’....up yours big un."

*The Chase continues at 5pm on ITV tomorrow
