ITV The Chase's Paul Sinha furious with himself after silly mistake

Paul Sinha had a very unlucky moment on  The Chase today as he made a silly mistake.

On the show, Callum, Lynn, Bronagh and Charles were up against  The Sinnerman today in the hope of winning a potential prize fund worth thousands of pounds.

Last to face Paul was Charles, who wanted to use the prize money for a trip to New Orleans with his wife.

Charles struck lucky (The Chase/ITV)

Charles had a very good cash-builder of £7000, but after knocking out two other contestants, The Sinnerman was determined to scupper Charles' chances.

During the head-to-head round, Charles made a few mistakes as Paul was set to take victory.

But then The Sinnerman had a nightmare as he made a silly mistake when answering a question.

Host Bradley Walsh asked: "What does the word 'comital' refer to?"

It looked like Charles was out, until this happened (The Chase/ITV)

The options were A) Earl, B) A prince or C) A king.

Bradley announced the correct answer of 'earl', which left Paul wincing.

The host said: "Ey up he's not happy", to which Paul admitted he'd got it badly wrong.

He said: "I was looking for a count..."

The mistake led Charles to enter the final round with Lynn with £15,000 in the prize pot.

Luckily for The Sinnerman he pulled it back after beating the pair in the final round, leaving them empty-handed.
