ITV The Chase's Mark Labbett shows why he's The Beast as he breaks table after contestant's win

ITV chaser Mark Labbett broke a table in anger after a contestant's win.

Nicknamed 'The Beast' Mark was defeated on quiz show The Chase by a vicar called Mike before the incident happened.

Mike was the only player left on his team and managed to put £8,000 in the prize fund, against all odds he managed to set a target of 18 for The Chaser to beat reports the Liverpool Echo.

The Beast got several questions wrong, which enabled Mike to push him back, but it looked like the chaser was gaining ground with seconds to spare.

On the last question the chaser got it wrong, with two seconds to spare, meaning Mike bagged the cash.

Frustrated Mark slammed down his arms and broke the table - with Bradley screaming "he's broken the table" and lifting up a piece of shredded plastic, proving why the show call him 'The Beast'.

Mike was thrilled with his win and said he would spend it on a trip to Australia with his wife to see an Ashes test.

The show had quite the reaction on Twitter, Nick said: "Stupendous final chase that, well in Mike quality player."

Kate Martin said: "Absolutely brilliant! Well done Mike, very well deserved."

And Fiona said: "Haha The Beast broke the table well done Mike, great general knowledge and a well deserved £8k."

*The Chase continues at 5pm on ITV tomorrow
