ITV The Chase's Mark Labbett points out contestant's 'celebrity name'

The Chase fans were left stunned tonight by a contestant's name that had a striking similarity to a famous comedian.

The team introduced themselves as usual but it was a dental services manager from Romford that got everyone at home talking.

The 24-year-old introduced herself as Peta-Kay, which she pronounced as Peter Kay, with many viewers thinking she was named after the Phoenix Nights star.

She told host Bradley she was currently writing a self help book about marriage, as she had got married last year and if she won some cash it was going towards her events planning business that she had recently set up.

But it was the Chaser himself - Mark Labbet t who commented on the contestant's name which got viewers talking at home.

Before they went head to head the chaser told her that he had cancelled her taxi because "with a name like that you've got to go home in a car share" in reference to Peter Kay's hit show.

Peta-Kay smiled at the joke and decided to go for the low offer of £1,000 in an effort to get back to her team, instead of playing for the £3,000 she had earned in her cash builder.

But many viewers rushed to twitter to point out the coincidence in her name.

Dan said: "Did everyone just shout at the tv Peter Kay!!?"

Kayleigh said: "NAH IM SORRY, I know it’s not spelt the same but is my gal really called PETER KAY."

Steven Ingram said: "I thought Peter Kay was from Bolton?"

And after battling it out with Mark she managed to return to the team and add to the prize pot ahead of the final Chase.

*The Chase continues at 5pm on ITV tomorrow
