ITV The Chase's Bradley Walsh shocked as Anne Hegerty's insult backfires

Bradley Walsh was surprised on The Chase today when Anne Hegerty's insult backfired.

PhD student Kayleigh had a successful cash builder round, answering most questions correctly and securing £6,000.

When Bradley asked what she does in her spare time, Kayleigh said she plays squash.

Asked what she would do with the money, should she and her team win the final round, Kayleigh revealed she wanted a new car.

She said: "I think I would spend the money on a new car because they always break down on me."

It was then time for Kayleigh to face The Governess in the head-to-head round, where she opted for the middle offer.

But as usual Anne was her fiery self and gave Kayleigh one of her famous insults: "I like playing squash and I drive a steam roller."

However, Kayleigh looked at The Governess with a blank face, before admitting: "Sorry I didn't get that."

Bradley was shocked, telling Kayleigh: "Come on squash and steam roller?!".

Kayleigh just apologised whilst Anne shook her head laughing.

Yet despite not understanding Anne's insult, Kayleigh smashed the head-to-head, bringing £6,000 back to the team.
