ITV The Chase's Bradley Walsh intervenes as contestant chooses 'selfish' minus offer

The Chase’s Bradley Walsh noticed one contestant’s shock reaction to his teammate taking the lower offer of minus £2,000.

Daniel, Ollie, Cate and Anne were on the show hoping to win a large sum of money.

Up first was Daniel, a management assistant from Hertfordshire, saving for his wedding day.

He had a strong cash builder, answering six questions correctly before playing in the head-to-head.

Choosing to stick to the middle offer of £6000, Daniel stormed through to the final.

Next was Ollie, 21, from Manchester, who didn’t fare so well in the cash builder.

After answering no questions correctly, The Beast offered Ollie £20,000, £0 or -£2000.

Anne advised Ollie to stick with his £0 and come back to the team.

But Cate’s suggestion caused a stir.

She suggested Ollie take the minus offer, which was more than likely going to secure him a place in the final.

As soon as Cate spoke, Bradley noticed a change in atmosphere.

Whilst usually he wouldn't comment on contestant's choices, he couldn't help but say: “We’ve got raised eyebrows there.”

Referring to Daniel, who had just worked very hard to secure a decent sum of money, Bradley asked for his opinion.

Daniel told Ollie to stick with the £0, but Ollie decided against it and controversially chose the minus £2000.

Viewers were furious at Ollie’s decision, with many taking to Twitter.

Nicole said: “Don’t want Ollie to have any of the money.”

Jay tweeted: “Ollie should have stayed at home.”

Keven said: “I hope Ollie feels ashamed by taking away any cash if the team win! Added nowt, took away 2K! FFS.”

And Grey said: “What a waste of space, Ollie taking -£2000. Selfish.”
