ITV The Chase player accidentally shares family secret shocking Bradley Walsh

The Chase player accidentally shared a family secret on today's show, shocking Bradley Walsh.

Steve, Vicki, Sam and Lita were all hoping to score a huge prize fund today as they took on Anne Hegerty.

Unfortunately, Steve was knocked out by The Governess in the head-to-head round after sticking to his middle offer of £7,000.

Vicki and Lita both opted for the higher offer and suffered a similar fate.

Sam didn't realise what he'd said (ITV)

And despite his fellow contestants losing out, Sam also chose to upgrade is £4,000 to £60,000.

During the head-to-head, Brad asked Anne and Sam a question regarding the 'Wildean' writing.

Sam was asked to name which character with the surname 'Grey' had been used as part of the Wildean style.

The options were A) Agnes Grey B) Christian Grey or C) Dorian Gray.

Anne was forced to tell Sam who Christian Grey is (ITV)

The correct answer was of course Dorian Gray, but Sam got a little flustered and opted for Christian Grey.

Brad asked why he chose it and Sam admitted to not knowing any, but said: "I think my mum likes Christian Grey."

Anne was forced to tell Sam that Christian Grey was the main protagonist in the erotic fiction novel Fifty Shades of Grey.

Sam was distraught at what he had told Bradley, putting his hands over his face.

Twitter was in hysterics over the situation.

Hilary said: "His mum will kill him."

Another wrote: "Boy on #TheChase will get a slap off his mother.... My mother likes Christian Grey, so innocent too."

And a third wrote: "Jesus wept, Christian Grey."
